About AirconDrop
AirconDrop is an independent UK service that tracks stock and prices for portable air conditioners, dehumidifiers and fans, and emails subscribers the moment a tracked product comes back in stock or drops in price. It is free, and we are not a retailer: every product links to the retailer's own page.
Why we exist
UK summers have changed. Heatwaves that once felt exceptional now arrive most years, and British homes were built to keep warmth in, not let it out. When temperatures climb past 30°C, portable air conditioners and good fans sell out within hours of a forecast, and retailers' own "notify me" emails often arrive after the stock has gone again. Winter brings the opposite problem: damp, condensation and mould, and the same rush on dehumidifiers when the weather turns. AirconDrop closes that gap with fast restock alerts, so you get a real chance to buy before the shelves clear.
What we do
- Restock and price alerts. We check UK retailer stock and prices every 15 minutes, using retailer product feeds, marketplace APIs and public product pages. When a tracked product returns or its price drops, subscribers to that category get an email. You choose which categories you want: air conditioners, dehumidifiers, fans, or any mix.
- Three separate sections. Portable air conditioners, dehumidifiers and fans each have their own product list and alerts, so you never get a dehumidifier alert when you asked about air conditioners.
- Plain-English buying guides. Our portable air conditioner guide covers BTU sizing for real UK rooms, venting through sash, casement and tilt-and-turn windows, noise and running costs. The dehumidifier guide covers honest litres-per-day sizing, compressor versus desiccant, and laundry mode. The fan guide explains what a fan can and cannot do, which type suits which room, and what each costs to run.
How we choose products
Products are listed automatically from UK retailers and brand stores, not hand-picked, and must pass strict checks: a genuine product of the right type (no accessories, spares or look-alikes), a stated capacity where it matters (BTU for air conditioners, litres per day for dehumidifiers), a realistic price and a real product image. Marketplace listings must come from business sellers. Evaporative air coolers are listed under fans and clearly labelled "Not an air conditioner", because they do not lower room temperature.

AirconDrop is built and run by Kyle Marshall Rance, who writes and updates the buying guides and decides which products and retailers we cover. The guides are written for UK homes: British room sizes, UK windows, UK electricity prices and UK retailers. Each guide shows when it was last updated, and we correct mistakes as soon as we hear about them: email hello@aircondrop.co.uk.
How we make money
Some outbound links are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate revenue does not influence which products we list or how they are sorted. We have no in-house brand and no paid placements.

We handle subscriber data in line with UK GDPR. We send one confirmation email before adding you to any list, every alert has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we never share or sell your email address (see our privacy policy).
