What is aircondrop.co.uk?

We're an independent UK service that tracks stock and prices for portable air conditioners, dehumidifiers and fans at UK retailers, and emails subscribers the moment a tracked product comes back in stock or drops in price. We also publish practical buying guides. We're not a retailer. Every product link points to the retailer's own page.

What products do you track?

Three separate categories: portable air conditioners, dehumidifiers and fans, including tower, pedestal, desk, bladeless and hot + cool fans, air circulators and evaporative air coolers. You choose which categories you get alerts for, and you only ever get alerts for the ones you picked.

How often will I get emails?

Only when stock returns or a price drops for a product in a category you signed up for. During a heatwave or a cold, damp spell that might be several times a week; at other times, rarely. We don't send newsletters, roundups, or "just checking in" emails.

Which retailers do you monitor?

A growing list of UK retailers, brand stores and business sellers on eBay, added as each partnership goes live. Every product card names the retailer and links straight to its page. Some outbound links are affiliate. See the affiliate disclosure.

How do you know when something's back in stock?

We check stock and prices every 15 minutes using retailer product feeds, marketplace APIs and public product pages. When a previously out-of-stock product becomes available, or its price drops, an alert email goes out to that category's subscribers.

Do you sell my email?

No. We use your email solely to send the alerts you asked for and (rarely) service messages about your subscription. See the privacy policy. No third-party sharing, ever.

How do I unsubscribe?

Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom, which removes you from that category. No confirmation step, no account deletion form. You can also reply to any email with "unsubscribe" and we'll remove you within a day.

Do you list every product on the market?

Not yet. Products are listed automatically from the retailers we cover and must pass strict checks: the right type of product (no accessories or spares), a stated capacity where it matters, a realistic price and a real image. Coverage grows as we add retailers. If a specific model is missing and you'd like alerts on it, email us.

What BTU do I need for my room?

Rough rule: about 100 BTU per m² for an average UK room. A 20 m² bedroom typically wants 9,000 BTU; a 25 m² living room, 12,000. South-facing rooms, top-floor flats, kitchens, and rooms with more than two people all need more. See the portable air conditioner guide for the full sizing table.

Does a fan or an air cooler cool the room like an air conditioner?

No. A fan makes you feel cooler by moving air across your skin, and an evaporative air cooler only cools the air slightly at the front, but neither lowers the temperature of the room. Only an air conditioner, which vents heat outside through a hose, does that. That's why air coolers are listed under fans and labelled "Not an air conditioner". See the fan guide.

I got an alert but the product's out of stock again. Why?

In a heatwave or a cold snap, popular models can sell out within minutes of returning to stock. Our alerts go out as soon as we detect availability, but we can't guarantee stock is still there by the time you click. If you really need one, act quickly.

How do the star ratings work?

Some products show a star rating from Google Shopping. That is the average rating other shoppers gave the same model across UK retailers. We only show it when we are confident it is the exact same model (same brand, same size and the same product line) and it has at least 15 reviews. We check each product once and keep the rating we find.
